Ray Crotty.
BSc Construction Management, Aston; MSc Economics, London.
After six years in building construction following graduation,
Ray Crotty worked for twelve years in a variety of management
control roles on North Sea projects with Bechtel, Phillips Petroleum
and Shell. Joined Bovis in 1988 and set up and ran the Logistics
functions on the Canary Wharf project. Then Head of IT with Bovis
for six years; responsible for all aspects of the company's computer
systems, including the development of the award winning Hummingbird
project management system - essentially an encapsulation of best
North Sea project practice tailored to the needs of onshore building
construction. Subsequently devised and implemented the company's
Extranet based document management and communications systems - the
earliest known project collaboration system - used on the Bluewater
project. He founded C3 Systems Ltd in 1988 to develop the Bluewater
ideas and to generalise their use in the industry.
Martha Mador
BA English, University of Toronto; MBA Cranfield; DPhil.,
Henley.
Martha currently leads the WestFocus Entrepreneurship Centre, an
initiative of 7 universities within the London and the Thames
Valley, where she supports innovators and entrepreneurs developing
their ideas. Martha is a consultant in marketing and strategy
development, with clients in the public and private sectors. She has
14 years experience devising and running Strategic and Management
Development programmes, ranging from masterclasses through tailored
short courses to the Kingston MBA programme. Previously she acted in
various marketing roles in the media.
Sarah Dixon
Sarah provides strategy and business excellence consultancy to a
variety of organisations. In 2002 she joined Kingston Business
School and is currently Director of Postgraduate Programmes there,
responsible for the development of a large portfolio of established
and new products and markets. Previously, she spent 23 years in
international business roles for Royal Dutch Shell. Positions
included Petrochemicals Manager Austria, Chemicals Manager Russia
&CIS, Business Strategist, and Mergers and Acquisitions
Manager.
Peter Berg
MA Engineering, CANTAB; MSc Project Management, Cranfield.
His experience includes 18 years in the Engineering Industry
working for the MoD, Davy Metals, Trafalgar House, Kvaerner and
Ericsson (Sweden). Peter was MD of a specialist sub-contractor and
worked on the preparation and execution of complex joint venture and
PFI projects (e.g. Channel Tunnel Rail Link). He has worked in
design, production, and project management at various management
levels and across a wide range of technologies and industry sectors.
Peter is now an independent consultant specialising in strategic
analysis, marketing and investment decision-making. His recent work
includes SUEK Coal-to-Liquids, Rose Theatre Business Plan and
Creative Industries Mentoring Network development. He is also a
part-time lecturer in Business at Kingston University.
